Show recently updated files on frontend using WP Filebase

I'm using wp-filebase plugin to manage my documents. I need help in showing the recently uploaded/updated files in a page (frontend) just like what it does it the admin area.

I tried several experiments like creating shortcodes in functions.php by adding the codes I got from the plugin (copy paste). Sadly.. it didn't work.

I'm guessing this is the file that generates the report list.
